Happiness is...

For years, people have assumed their happiness was tied to things like personal success, good health, inner peace, or perhaps the ability to finally fit into a pair of size 4 jeans.

Now new research suggests a person’s happiness — or lack thereof — may actually depend on something else entirely: their spouse.

According to a study in the latest issue of the American Psychological Association’s journal Developmental Psychology, a person’s individual happiness is closely tied with that of their spouse — at least when it comes to long-term married couples.

studies, the adage that you should "be careful what you ask for" has more teeth to it than you might imagine. Your brain is very good at attending to whatever you direct it to. It's kind of like when you go to buy a car and you think you're the only person in the world who will have that shiny, bright purple VW Bug; then you drive it off the lot, and it seems every other car is just like yours. The Bugs were always out there, but it took a focusing event to get them onto your radar screen and noticed by you.

Characteristics of Successful Entrepreneurs

Not everyone is cut out to strike out on their own as an entrepreneur and a business owner. If you don’t have the characteristics necessary to be a small business owner, chances are your small business will not succeed. You also need a good environment in which to start your business. Some countries are better places for entrepreneurial success than others.
